One major challenge was the design of sloping, high acoustic, mega-panel ceilings that housed electrical and ventilation units. Because of an already congested ceiling void, the project required a huge amount of co-ordination to make sure everything fit perfectly in place.
To meet an extremely tight deadline, Integra’s team worked 20 hours per day to transform British Airways’ First Class Lounge at Gatwick’s south terminal.
In places, the drywall needed to be triple height, requiring structural steel where no head fixing was available.
Most importantly, the project had to be completed quickly because the client needed the lounge to reopen for the peak holiday period. The delivery team worked around the clock, organised in a series of backshifts. At times, Integra was working 20 hours a day, but every one of our team met the challenges with enthusiasm and determination – ensuring the end result was fantastic.
