In 2015, Ross opted for a career change and ran a pub belonging to a small, independent chain. While there, he got to know our Managing Director, Warren McCarthy. Warren convinced Ross to bring his skills to Integra.
Starting as a site manager, Ross soon developed a deep interest in Health & Safety matters. He studied for – and passed – a NEBOSH Health & Safety qualification and now works closely with our H&S Manager, Martyn Tubb. In his current role, Ross spends a lot of time addressing any Health & Safety issues that arise during our projects. Where necessary, he’ll provide training or arrange standdowns to make sure our teams fully understand safe methods of working.
Ross enjoys the variety he experiences in his role, working with different people each day. He likes to get H&S messages across using real stories from his experience. He appreciates that his work is challenging and empowers him to focus on his priorities.
When he has some spare time, Ross and his wife enjoy walking their poodle in the Kent countryside and visiting local real ale pubs. He’s also a long-suffering supporter of the Scotland Rugby team and, although he’s long since hung up his gloves, is a big fan of amateur boxing.
