We’re extremely proud to sponsor young footballers at Ravens Wood School in Bromley. It’s an excellent school that’s truly dedicated to nurturing its pupils’ talents. Recently, the school took 83 boys to get an early taste of international football, playing against local squads in Spain. We recently received this hugely positive update from the school, telling us what a great time the boys had and how our sponsorship made a real difference.

“On 27th March, Ravens Wood School took 83 students and 9 staff on a football tour to Valencia. After a 4am start and a very turbulent flight the tourists arrived in Spain.

“The first thing on the itinerary was a guided tour around the famous Mestalla Stadium, seeing the trophy room, media suite, changing rooms and getting pitch side to sit in the dugout.

“The next day another early start saw the boys head to the training ground for the first time where they enjoyed sessions delivered by Valencia academy coaches. After training, we visited the largest aquarium in Europe, Oceanographic. That evening, three squads played games against local Spanish teams, cheered on by the other half of the touring party.

“6am soon rolled around again and the boys were back at it: first breakfast and then onto the coach for another top training session at the Valencia training ground. The afternoon gave us some time to explore the beautiful city centre before relaxing on the beach and at the hotel before the three games planned for that evening. The boys who cheered on their friends so well the day before now had their turn under the floodlights.

“Saturday morning saw the penultimate training sessions and, despite the early 8am start, the sun was glorious and the boys, despite being very tired by this point, gave another great account of themselves. The next activity was bowling and this brought out the competitive side of the students. Then it was off to the Mestalla for the La Liga game, Valencia v Real Mallorca. The weather at this point took a turn, but some hail stones and a 0-0 draw did not dampen the spirits.

“The final day was the last chance to train at the training ground before we headed home. 83 very tired boys and 9 even more tired staff boarded the flight home with memories that that will last a lifetime!

“We would like to thank our sponsors who helped to kit out the students and ensuring they looked fantastic throughout. Our primary sponsor for the tour was Integra – Making ambitious concepts a reality.”

Well done to all who took part and made the trip such an amazing experience. We’re delighted our sponsorship made the tour even more memorable.
