Phil Catchpole, Head of Estimating

Phil has been with Integra for some 20 years, initially learning the ropes on-site as a fixer. After a spell helping out with general administration, he trained as an estimator. He got busier and busier as the company grew.

“Having a background as a fixer gives you a different set of eyes,” Phil explains. “When you’ve worked on-site, you’ve got a much better idea of what’s possible – and what standards can be reached.”

Phil’s work involves collating huge amounts of information, interpreting the scope of works, measuring drawings, building up prices and then compiling a quote for the client who needs it. “There’s a buzz keeping ahead of deadlines,” he says, “and you’ve got to be really good at dealing with clients. They need to have confidence in you.”

“There’s a friendly environment at Integra,” Phil continues, “but you need to have the right skills. If you have a hunger to win projects and make projects work for you, then you will succeed. You need to willing to break new ground and, above all, be proud of what we do. If you put the effort in, you’ll be rewarded!”
